Savage Audio, Inc., maker of world-class handmade amplifiers since 1994 proudly announces the release of the Schatten 19 guitar amplifier. This all tube, Class A amplifier was inspired by the famous sound of Shadow’s guitarist Hank Marvin. The Schatten (German for shadow) offers today’s guitarist an updated take on a classic tone from the early days of rock ‘n roll.

The Schatten produces 19 watts of loud all-tube power from two EL84 power tubes powered by a 6CA4 rectifier. In the pre-amp section the Schatten uses one EF86 and one 12AX7. With the Schatten, the Savage team has created a classic new circuit design that provides a twist on the unique “Savage Sound.”

The Schatten 19’s simplified tone stack is the amp’s most unique feature. With just three knobs, the player can easily shape volume and tone with dramatic results. First is the Schatten 19 volume control which provides precise, measured response all along the curve. Next is a three-way selector switch that shapes the tone with bypass, treble boost, and bass boost positions. This provides players a quick way to access new tonal frontiers while maintaining the Savage Audio tradition of elegant simplicity. Lastly, the Schatten 19 tone cut control expands the functions of the 3 way switch by providing the ability to add or remove the sparkle of treble response from your overall tonal experience.

In all, the Schatten 19 provides a tonal palate that will compliment single coil, humbucker, or any other pickup configuration in a compact head cabinet. From grinding Class A overdrive to sweet crystal clean, the Schatten 19 may be able to bring your search for “the sound” to an end.

Savage offers extension cabinets to match the Schatten heads. Extensions are available in 1 x 15”, 1 x 12” (large and small), 1 x 10”, 2 x 10” and 2 x 8” speaker configurations. The Savage team highly recommends the Celestion AlNiCo Blue or equivalent speaker to fully realize the capabilities of this versatile amplifier. Still compact, the Schatten 19 head on top of a 1 x 12” small extension cabinet stands 34” tall, providing a big sound without taking up a lot of space.
